cinnamon crunch bagels

My paleo cinnamon sugar bagels are crispy on the outside and warm and fluffy on the inside, making for the literal most perfect bagel ever!

Growing up, I used to beg my parents to take me to Panera Bread before school to get one of their cinnamon bagels. The way the the sugar left a crunch on top was enough to turn my moody 13 year old self into the happiest girl in Chicago. Recently, i’ve been craving a bagel like this but knew there was no way I would be able to find one to fit my dietary restrictions. I guess I should be thankful for that because these babies were born! These bagels are free from gluten, grains, dairy, eggs, refined sugar, nuts and yeast. How can you say no?

After making these, I can’t even believe that I went a whole year without them. I would even go as far to say that they are the best bagel I have ever had. The moment I bit into one of these babies I knew that alittlemorebalanced was about to get a lot more bagel recipes, LOL.

I know how hard eating grain, gluten, dairy and egg free can be- and I am so happy I can be a resource for you guys to find great recipes for the whole family. I read through every one of your messages, and I am so thankful for the community I have built here. Love you guys, but now back to the bagels.

HOW DO I MAKE PALEO BAGELS?

Okay guys, these are actually fairly simple to make. Heres what you need-

  • almond flour

  • arrowroot flour

  • baking powder

  • apple cider vinegar

  • maple syrup

  • cinnamon

  • coconut sugar

The secret to making these warm and fluffy on the inside is boiling them before baking. This is actually a trick my aunt taught me when I used to make regular bagels and its stuck with me ever since!
